Post your birdlife shots

One of two fluttering about as we exited an enclosure at the Desert Wildlife Park in Alice Springs in late October. So it was 'in the wild'.

Unfortunately did not have the camera with me when I went for a walk at Renner Springs on the way home and missed a flock of approximately 200 black cockatoos.

There were hundreds of these when we walked to Kathleen Springs. Moving that much it was hard to get a decent shot.

Got out this afternoon again after this mornings success...

These guys were happy for me to sit in the grass with my 70-200

Also found this guy watching me:

I switched to the 200 - 500 and no more than 2 minutes later a dirty great Tiger snake slid across the track less than 4 ft in front of me

Couldn't get a shot being so close and by the time I back up far enough - he had disappeared into the long grass and I elected not to follow.

Of course I was only backing up to get the shot

Anyway, after my heart rate returned to normal... I got these. It's obviously breeding season...

I went to Phillip Island today to drop my son at a friends place and decided to sit on the cliffs near the Nobbies and use the gulls as practise for tracking birds in flight.

The wind blowing a gale, made hand holding the 200-500 a bit of a struggle and I got lots of tack sharp rocks with blurry birds in front of them

and one or two decent shots.

While these are not perfect, these guys were 70-80 metres away at their closest, so these are cropped pretty heavily.

I do love this lens - lots of fun when a crow decides he doesn't want a hawk visiting...

Unfortunately in my haste to capture the shot I did blur it a little.

Our resident Blue Wing sitting on the balcony gazing at himself in the glass on the sliding door of the bedroom.
