Thread: It's been quiet in here, let's talk about Monitors

I have an Asus PA248Q IPS monitor and am very happy with it given $395 it cost me 2 years ago. Coupled with a Spyder it does a great job, colour is fantastic and it has some nice built in features.

An Eizo would be great but hard to justify for an infrequent amateur..........

Have you actually printed your photos though or are you just saying the colours are great on the screen.

I'm asking because the accuracy of the monitor lays in the end print

I have but I'm really going by the calibration report that the monitor came with and the one I get from my spyder, in comparison to other monitors I have had and currently use for day to day stuff.

I would go bigger if I was buying now. At least 28".

I posed the question on a photography page on Facebook and it looks like a good few are using the dell ultra sharp.

There is a professional photography monitor coming out from Benq but it hasn't been released yet.

So far it looks like I might go the dell way especially as it's just in my budget.

I probably going to get the 24 though rather than the 27 as I was thinking I could keep the monitor I have now and run them both

16 x 10 is great for games

you wont need a heater in the room if you work it hard

Can't imagine Pete it would be working as hard as it would for gaming on static images in Lightroom.
