Many times when we drive south from the Wide Bay area to Tasmania or Victoria we stop in a very nice caravan park just north of Coffs Harbour.
Tha park is on Sapphire Beach from were is a very good view of the Split Solitary Island
I recommend theis caravan park to all of you and specially those who travel with pets.
The first image is a unrise which just come on the split in the island. The second image is a crop section of the image at full size.
I do not know when in the future, the sun will come spot on on the split again.
Cheers

No I do not use GND filters wich can be very handy for this type of photography.
For that reason the window of light that I have to take thiese shots is very short.
I am contemplating importing some Sing-Ray GND filters in the future .
The problem is that a set of 3 diferent stops are required.....about $ 1200+
Cheers

Very nice sky and composition with the silhuette on one side of the image
Included are a couple of happy snaps I have taken from some of our travels, sunrise ones usually taken from pretty close proximity to the camp at this hour of the morning.
Sunset just out of Monto

Sunset Lake Mulwala
Out our front door

What an awesome set of images, I started a multi quote but by the time I got to the end I just thought it'd be easier to just congratulate everyone.
Here's one i had in my computer. It was taken off the top of Cambridge plateau which is S/W of Kyogle. This was the tail end of a storm that ripped through the valley and left a path of destruction in it's wake on 29 Dec 08.
My lense was playing up and only random photo's worked. This was one of them:
