don’t worry about the knockers i think most people would have gone though a couple of versions of gear and packing over time.

to make things worse in not only packing for what comes out first but also being able to stop for lunch.
We now have 2 setups based around what tent we take, the bigger tent is for if we are staying for a couple of nights or a dome tent for the quick over night stops.

packing, i have made ply boxes that all fitted into place but have binned them for more STD black plastic boxs with clip on lids from Miter 10, ants got into my boxes. so now it goes some thing like this.
    1 box for kitchen.
    1 box for food
    1 box for clothing
    1 box for bedding
    fridge 40 ltr

if it don’t fit in a box then we don’t take it
chairs and tent between the boxes, big tent on the roof.
all the pegs tarps, axe, star pickets, poles are in one draw, parts, first aid kit, cookers,& fuel, fly spray, insect replant, soap TP in the other draw.

but then we have also upgraded from a disco to a county for the space and we don’t have dogs ( have an aversion to dogs craping all over the good camping spots) we do have a toilet shower tent thing and an electric pump ( for SWMBOB, & for me who sleeps next to SWMBO). toys and any other clothing in soft bags just get tossed on the floor of the back seat. also 80 ltrs of water on 20 ltr jerry’s in the back and if we need more 20 ltr cubes on the floor of the back seat ( tyed down)

on the roof, 2 wheels the big tent if we are taking it and the push bikes.

    As mentioned,Camper Trailer.
If its not in the budget get a trailer.
Nothing like a bit of luxury camping.

Unfortunately, my experience has been that you are most likely to find human crap and streamers all over the place, rather than dog crap.

So far we haven't camped with the dog where we were close enough to have to keep him away from anyone else, but yes, he is always on his lead.

Good on you. not all dog owners are as responsible and after a couple of bad experiences and one nasty set to with a dog owner ( relieved its self on our tent) and once watching a Doberman return with 3 killed lizards with in an hour ( in a national park)
But it’s interesting that only the dog comment gets picked up on and the packaging and camping comments don’t?
