    My pig

After seeing them at the camping shows forever. I finally bought one. We have had it for a month now and barring two nights have used it every night. Have cooked on it probably a dozen times.
Suffice to say we love our Ozpig.
    Just thought I'd share that.

Can't imagine how much we'll use it when it actually starts getting cold.

I reckon they are a great idea.
I saw them about 3 years ago at a show, but couldn't force my wallet open far enough to buy one so made my own.
We use it to cook most of our roasts at home in the camp oven, and have taken it away camping heaps.
If there's a communal cooking fire we dont usually bother with it, but for just the 2 of us its great and uses stuff all wood. Have used it a bit at caravan parks too as its up off the ground and enclosed, so usually OK even if the park doesn't allow open fires.

    Glad you are enjoying yours.

    Hi Kenley,

Can I ask how much it cost and where you got it?

I just Googled them and it says their website is down.

    cheers,

From memory, it was just under $300 at the show. I never had the cash, so I googled and found the few outlets that sell them. Paid just over the $300 mark then.

Reckon we've already got our moneys worth from it.

Hey Dave, does yours have the standard length flu?

Reason I ask is a friend has one and his doesn't draw that well and it cooked quite slowly. When I mentioned this to him he said he had met a bloke with double the length flu while camping once and it roared when it burned and gave off nearly double the heat. Mind you it went through firewood quite a bit faster as well.

I intend to get one but had decided I would get a couple of extra lengths of flu.

    cheers,

    yeah std length flue

i control the heat with the front door but on occasion it can be a bit slow but i am usually in no rush

i also have heard that extending the flue makes them run hotter and i will probably find out this winter as i am getting an exhaust guy to bend me a pipe to go up past my gutter on the back verandah
