Thread: swags - are they any good

We have a camper trailer, but we also have two old Saul single swags we've had for at least 15 years. They have been battered and abused, but are still fine.
As I said above, when swagging it, as in The Simpson trip, we put up stretchers and then roll out the swags under the vehicle awning. Then we put sleeping bags and pillows in the swags. They are also useful when we take the grandkids away with us.

I bought a King Big Daddy swag, and without having used it yet, I have to say that I am just so incredibly impressed with it. King products might be cheap, but assuming this thing doesn't leak, it most certainly doesn't present as a cheap swag in the slightest when it's in front of you. And it doesn't sit on top of you which also annoys me and my feather down bedding.

I picked up a kings big daddy off gumtree for $40 mainly so that when my dog comes with me she can curl up on her blanket next to me instead of trying to squeeze both of us into a single swag.

Lucky critter, there is heaps of room in the Big Daddy for man and dog!

I use the wife's rat dog as a foot warmer.

We also have a mini foot warmer that likes the end of the sleeping bag.

The best thing about a swag is that it's tough and you can sleep anywhere in it. I always know I'll have a cosy warm and dry bed, i can sit in it like a chair when rolled up, lounge on it like a beanbag, drag it around without worrying about damaging it.

IMO The swags are made by Centre Canvas in Alice Springs. Look at that beauty ready to go after years of faithful service!
