We have a camper trailer, but we also have two old Saul single swags we've had for at least 15 years. They have been battered and abused, but are still fine.
As I said above, when swagging it, as in The Simpson trip, we put up stretchers and then roll out the swags under the vehicle awning. Then we put sleeping bags and pillows in the swags. They are also useful when we take the grandkids away with us.
