Well I've decided my southern cross double dome is poo. It leaks badly in heavy rain, is huge to pack up and bloody heavy to get on the roof. And yes I've seasoned the canvas. It leaks where the canvas top meets the PVC bottom. A lot! On our most recent camping trip I decided swags are good if single but doubles just take up too much room. We are tenting it with a quality air mattress from now on. I'll keep my single swag (burke and wills ironbark) for solo trips but will most likely be getting rid of the southern cross. Disappointed too as they are bloody expensive. That and even with two of their mattresses in it, it's not as comfortable as my burke and wills with one.
I also realised that I prefer standard swags over domes as you can just roll them out and hop in. No poles to worry about.
l have got a Jim ALLEN Swag and swear by it have also put in a self inflatable mattress from oz tent and also on very cold nights l put underneath the mattress a emergency blanket to keep the moisture away they are very comfy and spacious they are Australian Made with Waterproof Canvas great for keeping you warm , dry, and comftorble
Had a few swags over the past 10 years. Been using a Mr Swagman double classic for about half of that time and love it.
I don't get these "dome swags", they just seem like small tents too me. The great part about a swag is just chucking it on the ground and your good to go. And then your sleeping outdoors to the fullest.

Very happy with the swag, and especially the sleeping bag that is supplied as an option with it.
Swag and sleeping bag roll up together and both fit in the carry bag for the swag (it's a bit bulkier than shown in the photo when the sleeping bag is also rolled up inside).
Not too heavy at all - the bag containing the legs is actually heavier than the swag / sleeping bag combined.
However, I would definitely not deal with this supplier again. Service and delivery times are very different from what they advertise. ;)
I have a decent turbo tent for longer stays but am looking for a quick easy one-nighter options for me and the missus.
Don't want much...
- inexpensive
- able to change in it
- quick set up / pack up.
- comfy.
Anyone?

The double is queens size in measurement BUT with the sides coming down is it actually practical for two people?
We have a double Darche swag. We love it. Yes it's a little snug but heck when the temperature drops at night you'll be glad to steal the other persons body heat!! Assuming that neither of you are built like a grizzly bear, you should be okay. If in doubt go to a camping shop and have a lie down :p
Just cleaning up in the garage and bugger me ! I found two Land Rover swags.
A mate gave them to me and I've never had need to even unroll them !
(They aren't new, but don't appear to be leaking oil)
I'll assemble and it them out tomorrow and try to remember to grab a few pics !
