Haven't seen or heard anything bad about them.. but depends what you are using it for.. it is worth the risk of failure in a remote area or is it just a weekender fridge...

I have had the 30 litre one for about 6 months now. So far it has worked great. It fits nicely in the back of the D2. I got it for weekend and day trips as my 60L fridge takes up to much room.

I bid on ebay and got it for $315. I think the 45L ones were going for around $400. I picked it up from there shop in Frankston.
    Cheers, David.

Well, I decided to buy a 45 litre fridge, plus bits & pieces, already have a large ice box, which works well, will post updates on its performance in due course, Bob.

They look like the old waeco fridges. I got the catalogue at work too, you can get a 30L for cheap! I guess if you got 5 or 6 good years out of it you'd be laughing! I think they would last longer than that if looked after though!

Yeah, my thinking too. Plan A is to use the fridge as a freezer, for meat, dry ice packs etc., and utilise the dry ice packs & large ice box I bought off them before for perishables. That's Plan A. Bob

Well received the new 45L fridge today, have it powered up on the kitchen table, 240V to 12V gizmo, going to take it down to -15, leave it for an hour or so, take the power off, then see how it held temp. overnight. Bob
