One thing to really consider is how they will handle the wind, something the cheaper domes don't do very well.

On our Madigan trip although we didn't use the tents, swagged for all but 2 camps, we did have some very windy days/nights.

A friends dome when we got to Louth had to be very well pegged/tied down, the centre pole jobs didn't look like budging.

I have the Black Wolf Turbo Lite 300 Plus its a great tent takes me about 10min to set up and like ricey said it can handle some fairly ferce wind this was the main reason i went for the black wolf as i camp on the beach alot

I had a few problems at first with build quality as i first up got a 270 plus from BCF well after the first 2 tents didnt do what i wanted from them Black Wolf went all out and gave me the bigger 300 plus as the 270 was discontinued one thing i can say tho is Black Wolf after sales service is second to none and i would not hesitate on buying any of there gear knowing if something went wrong id be looked after ....

As for size and packing i went for the Turbo Lite as it only weighs 20kg and fits either accross the front of my roof rack on the rangie or easly behind the front seats on the floor something ya cant do with the OZ Tent ....

    we have a Turbo Tent

We bought a Black Wolf Turbo 240. It was on special at a couple of hundred $$ under retail price because it had nylon goosenecks on the alloy poles the new model has alloy goosenecks. The wife and I set up camp on the side of a hill up in the Snowy mountains. Gale force winds blew all night ,after several hours of battering the tent pegs on the windward side pulled out and the wind got under the floor and the tent collapsed on top of us ,during our frantic efforts to regain composure we found 3 of the nylon goosenecks had snapped but although we expected the worst the tent fabric was undamaged. I took it back to place of purchase and a rep. from Black Wolf came and had a close look then gave me a new set of Alloy fittings and a handful of pop rivets. Considering the initial price we paid I didnt argue. That was 4 years ago and the tent is still in great shape. Although I might add we are 4 years older too and we are a bit more choosy about were we go camping. Cheers George

Packing them up is where the frustration may be, watch the video & be methodical about it if you get the heavier canvas type. I can fit other gear in the bag now as well as the tent.

Yep at first was a bit of a job to get mine back in its bag tho now its fairly simple tho you have to roll em up right to make em fit back in with the fly and ive found folding the fly corectly and placing it in the bag first helps tho mine being one of the bigger ones in the light range its bag is only big enough for the tent and its bits no room to spare thats for sure
