I bought an Ultima Swag back at the start of this year. What sold me was the fact that I can have just fly-screen or add the canvas over the top. This is really handy as I spend time both in North Qld and down around the Qld/NSW border so have to deal with some big temperature changes.

Perhaps the best part is you can unroll the swag and then all you have to do is tie the 2 end strings to something and you are set and don't have canvas or fly-screen touching you.

I've got to ask the question: Why do you blokes set up a swag like that when it would be just as easy to set up a small centre pole tent?

Fair dinkum, the notion of a swag has one distinct advantage over tents, shelters etc and that is .........
    simplicity.

Undo the straps, kick it - and it unrolls - get in and go to sleep.

Simplicity. Hal Saul Swags-or-Bob Burrage Swags
I have both , a Swag and a double pole Touring Tent.

I choose my swag over my centre/double pole tent 95% of the time purely because of Weight.

Touring tent packed up with the 2 x tent poles and bracket for top weights in at 25kgs. the Canvas Swag weights liturally nothing. I also carry a Tarp in case it rains and pull it over the top of the swag.

I have a Mitchell single, i have had it for about 4-5 years now, its been great, i actualy like it alot more then my brumby double i got for me and the wife. The mitchell cost 199 where as the brumby cost me 600ish, the design of the mitchell is better the only thing the brumby has on the mitchell is better canvas.
