E10 will not hurt a 3.9, and 95PULP is now so much more expensive that IMHO it cannot be justified compared with the loss of economy from E10. As I am sure you know , from July1 there is no more 91 ULP in NSW.
21.7 Lper 100Km is heavy for a 3.9 , but remember if used on short trips in winter and /or in hilly suburban work the consumption will be high. the official figures AFAIR are 20 city and 15 at 120Kmh , which were the standards in UK back then.
I get only about 20 suburban in the Central Coast of NSW which is very hilly and with short trips, even though mine has been extensively modified for economy. However I do get about 14.5 at 100Kmh pulling a 600Kg camper.
I do not know what adjustments you are referring to unless it is setting the voltage on the MAF. Yes this may make a small difference if it is out of adjustment.
