    Question Some advice please

Well, the learning curve is not yet over.
Many of the things I wanted to do haven't yet happened but, if I live long enough, they will. Had quite a few shortish trips and find 'Vera' to be a willing participant.
Fuel useage seems (after a small Japanes vehicle) a tad hefty.
On the last 500km run checked both gas & petrol useage and found - to my surprise - I was getting 3.6kms to a litre of gas and 4.6 from a litre of ULP.
That equates to 10.2 and 13.2 mpg in Clarkson language.

Do those consumption rates sound right to those of you who know these things?

While I'm at it, what's the correct petrol to use in the RR?
I've been using E10 but am thinking I should be using straight ULP.
Wouldn't want the ethanol playing havoc with the 3.9 V8.

And, further, I've noticed, in the Haynes, that adjustments can be made to the fuel intake in the fuel injection system. Looks a bit difficult for me (a 4 spanner job) but, has anyone ventured into this area before?

So really, apart from my fuel consumption dilemmas on a pension, everything seems to be pretty good. I'll get a couple of electrical bugs out of the way before a suspension change.

E10 will not hurt a 3.9, and 95PULP is now so much more expensive that IMHO it cannot be justified compared with the loss of economy from E10. As I am sure you know , from July1 there is no more 91 ULP in NSW.

21.7 Lper 100Km is heavy for a 3.9 , but remember if used on short trips in winter and /or in hilly suburban work the consumption will be high. the official figures AFAIR are 20 city and 15 at 120Kmh , which were the standards in UK back then.
I get only about 20 suburban in the Central Coast of NSW which is very hilly and with short trips, even though mine has been extensively modified for economy. However I do get about 14.5 at 100Kmh pulling a 600Kg camper.
I do not know what adjustments you are referring to unless it is setting the voltage on the MAF. Yes this may make a small difference if it is out of adjustment.
    Regards Philip A

if you have LPG you are better off springing for the higher octane fuel and then winding up the advance to suit it, this gives you a bit more go out of the LPG.

then run it primarily on LPG.

Exactly what I had done via my Gas man.
Run premium and mainly on gas. Dial the advance to 10 degree btdc.

These cars are heavy on fuel, the bigger motor 4.6 is much better and way more powerful. A thought if you want to ever to an upgrade.
