Cascading leaks
Peter,
- Been there-Done that... Fix one and create two leaks...even recently with my plastic tank, fixed (sort of) the obvious leak.. but ....
Strongly recommend the Ultra-Violet light approach, whether it be expensive auto-mechanics UV source, a "Black Light" globe in a trouble-lamp, a cheapie torch from the net or even just one of those key-chain UV LEDs.
Night time with the lights off makes it easy to see the dried glycol tracks.
Keen to hear what you found !

Amazing what you can see in the daylight. Bee utey you were right on the money. The original overheat was caused by the faulty viscous fan unit. Got a seconf hand from the wreckers for $45 albeit from a disco.
The leak was a misaligned gasket on the thermostat housing which was obvious when I put the car on the flat and in the daylight.
Much simplier when I used your idea of the superglue to hold it in place.
Had developed a bad misfire since overheating and tracked it down to plugs one and two....I had thought the worst ...replaced the plugs and she's running as good as new.
Thanks all for your ideas, knowledge and comments.
