    My first RRC

Hi all I picked up my first '85 RRC a couple of weeks ago. Needs a little work and some new tyres. plan on fixing as much as I can myself and turning this into a little project.

Main issues I've found so far:
Instrument cluster needs replacing. nothing works.
    Raidator needs repalcing.
Steering seems to have a lot of free play.
And last but not least the fuel pump has failed. It's on gas however I'd prefer both fuel supplies working.

Any advice on parts suppliers in adelaide would be much appricated.

Im from WA so can't say about Adelaide but I would suggest e-bay or gumtree, both good sources, (more or less).
Good luck with the RR, be warned they get addictive.

Welcome to you. Before you go replacing the whole instrument cluster, I would check some of the wiring out. The wiring isn't the best in these things, and it was the first thing I beefed up in mine. Steering and suspension aren't too hard to fix - there are plenty of parts available - ebay is your friend here - both Aus and UK site. Don't be afraid to bring parts in from OS, it is easy to do and prices are good depending on what you need - be aware that heavy bits cost quite a bit in freight.

Have fun, and let us know how you go with it.

    Cheers - Gav

    Hey Sabian

Im just like yourself with an 88 classic only with about 6 months more experience. i will give you the best advice i wish i had received.

    1) take your car to get a roadworthy get the bloke to list everything that needs to be done and get quotes on parts, lol i bet mostly oil seals. cost me about $200 (well worth it so you can make a plan and get sorted! if you know a mechanic even better.

    2) while the car is there go buy a haynes manual from repco or ebay and or a rave manual for that year (make sure its the right year !!!) unlike me

    3) after getting the list back check out

Quality Land Rover Parts Spares and Accessories Online

the best prices ive been able to find and you will get them within a WEEK!!!!! ive ordered 3 diferent times and all have arrived in under a week!!!

    4) how sure are you that the fuel pump is stuffed? maybe be blocked return hoses, fuel pressure reg etc. mines at land rover now diagnosing it.

thats all i can think of for now but thats what i have learned the hard way.

also double/triple/quadtriple check that the part numbers will fit your particular car.

ive ordered wrong injectors, air flow metre, fuel pump list goes on. almost cost me as much in postage to return it all!!!
