The biggest problem with the V8 is you need two.
and regardless if they suck or blow you dont want the rain to run into the valley or onto the plugs/leads.
    so whats left?

Well if you're recording lower under bonnet temps they can't hurt

Go on, get nerdy. You know you want to.

Your mm of water measurement can be converted to psi or millibar or whatever other measure of pressure you want to use. Hardest part by far will be getting a steady measurement with the car bouncing around. Recruit help if at all possible.

Keep in mind it's relative pressure... so shows a pressure differential between two points. Map it out on paper and let us know what results you get. Would be interesting to see what the pressure zones are on a brick (meant in a nice way of course).

I found a post from BigJon which claimed the sides of the quarter panels are low pressure points
    BigJon said so, science'd!

    Inertia is a wonderful thing.

EL thermos and you'll wonder why you didn't do it years ago. Even the genuine fakes are good and roar a lot louder than the stock fan.

Even at idle in 40 degrees when you really need it.........

    cheers, DL

Ok, now Corowa is done and dusted for another year, I can get stuck back into other things. . Today saw dozens of those little fiddly jobs you put off done on the RRC - bits of trim, interior stuff, etc. that actual list was something like new exhaust mounts front and rear (has zip ties there but they finally melted on that last run I did ), install new centre console, remove 80 channel Uniden from L322 and fit in RRC, install new (factory) vents in scuttle panel - old one were long gone, fit a heap of interior trim bits.

So, onto pics. The centre console is one I prototyped a couple of months back while at the inlaws place one weekend. I got it surprisingly close with just a few measurements I took before going down there - just had to fettle it a bit to get it how I wanted it. I don't love it, but I don't hate it either - plan B is already bubbling away in my mind, but that can wait for a bit.

Really need those carpets now..... I think I'll go buy some flexible carpet and have a go myself, I can't ever see the moulded ones being ready anytime soon.

The Uniden 80 channel CB fitted up - came up a treat with the hole going through the bottom of the dash running straight into the main unit located just behind it.

Also took it for a good run today - it sat on 90 degrees rock solid, but it is a cool day. I might go and find some tubing and mount the manometer up and see if I can find some low and high pressure spots under the bonnet.

Last big job before starting to use it on a semi regular basis is to fit up the huge 120 litre Brown Davis fuel tank that I owe a HUGE thank you to Grey Ghost. He texted me a link to it - on eBay. I was unable to bid or pick it up due to being out camping, so he bought it for me - and picked it up! What a legend! I owe you one mate.

Then I can start to look at doing some decent distances in it without having to worry about where the next servo is. I will have to mark and cut the floor where the fuel pump goes into the tank as it would be way too much trouble to drop the tank should I ever need to replace the pump. I have a brand new Bosch pump in the current tank - that will go into the big sucker before installation so I should be right for a few years anyway.

Just got to wrestle the sucker into place - it is bloody heavy - good job I put those HD springs in the back.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

You know, if you did me a big favour, that would cancel your debt to GG because he owes me a big favour for picking up his Stage 1.
    What goes around comes around.

On the other hand, I need all the leverage I can get if I am to store a vehicle or three in GG's yet to be built Man Shed.

Your classic is looking great. You should have taken it for a spin out here. Are those carpets from the guy in Ballan? I need to get a carpet set made up for one of the Mercs. I was thinking of having a chat with him.
