"Puke Brown" reminds me of my mums old Peugot, it was "Nappy Brown" a factory colour :-)

Bit more done today. I needed to finally work out what I was doing about the air filter housing as I couldn't mount the winch relay or ignition until I sorted this. I've had a couple of small Donaldson style air filter housings kicking about from dome genset engines I have, so decided to see if one of those would fit. Lucky me, it did, so I cleaned it up and gave it a coat of paint. It is a dual element unit and I have spare primary and safety elements so even better.
It leaves the air inlet in an ideal spot to hook up a raised air intake when I get around to it. That leave the winch really to be mounted further from the winch that I'd like, but I found a spot for that too.
Pics tomorrow once the paint is dry and everything is mounted properly.

Today's efforts.
Yesterday I measured up carefully and worked out where the air cleaner was going, that gave me just enough room to close the bonnet. This morning I decided to move it across just a whisker to allow for an elbow to run up to the RAI I will install later on. Below shows where it ended up
Bolted it down, closed the bonnet..... Missed it by that much.... About 10mm off - the brace under the bonnet just hits the housing, so back to the drawing board there.
This shot shows how the inlet lines up - I've ordered an adaptor off eBay by which will close the gap - even the extra space I now need after stuffing up the location of the air cleaner.
Mounted the winch relay box, and started running the cables to it. I'm 1 short, so will grab a few more metres this week.
Finally, wired up the Super Oscars. Most of the wiring I put in years ago when I redid it all. Relay, switch and all wiring apart from the output to the lights, so that didn't take long.
So, the list is slowly getting smaller, but there's still a bit to go. I've got the new fuel pump for the tank, so there's that, the busted bolt in the thermostat housing, then new uni joints in the drive shafts, go over all the old work on the engine conversion to make sure nothing is loose, then the interior.
The list never seems to get any smaller...![]()

That gap in the air intake could easily be bridged with a VN to VS Holden intake hose, they're 80mm ID and quite short, and available almost everywhere.
Example
Oh and a genuine part, new, for much the same price.
