Been keeping an eye on cts just saw a bronze 83 sell for around the 26k mark wasn't up the for more than two weeks. It was a very nice rig a the standard I am looking for, helped make up my mind, it's a little bit out of my reach and I'm doing mine instead. Just bought a new property in tassie with a nice barn where I can strip her down and start again. Very excited and a bit nerves. currently on the hunt for the hard to find bits. I think the interior will be the hardest, those plastics were always brital, thanks for your input and ill be posting pics (once I work out how to make them not tiny) from start to finish.
Ps if anyone's interested they have dropped the price of that 72 suffix A to 9995 on cts very straight and original needs some love though.
Just keep looking. I spent 12 months looking every night until I found a one owner 73 Suffix B in Western Australia.
I made an offer, flew over to inspect it and had it towed to a depot in WA and freighted to Brisbane. Other than a fine dusting of surface rust on things the only rust I have found is a couple of holes under the spare wheel, and I have pulled a fair bit apart as I have been cleaning it up. Even had to cut the original exhaust system out (holes everywhere).
Just keep looking and one will appear, but as time goes by they do get harder to find.
How much is an unrestored unregistered 2 door worth?
Mmmm my unmolested 88 4 door with genuine 20,000 miles on it maybe worth a few dollars in a few years. Good ammunition to convince the mrs to bring it back to Aust in a couple of years.......and the 90 of course!

Seen a few original early ones go on e-bay recently but they seem to sell before the auction has ended. Good original and restorable ones sell pretty quickly, me being the tight arse that I am have waited til I get one for next to nothing which suits me
I now have a 78 2 door shell with very little rust in it and a 79 2 door which is complete but rotten to the core for next to nothing but they need a ****load of work, the only probem is that it's in cacky mustard colour :mad::mad::mad:

g day fellas , i met a bloke called mark late last year at slacks creek, at midas. i was taking mylse too abs for new pads and rotors and i got talking too this bloke who worked next door. he had a 1980 white 2 door for sale, he wanted $3000 as is or$ 3300 with rwc. it looked very standard and very straight body for its age. it had sunraysia wheels on it( worst wheel ever) but it was worth every penny. i usually drive past daily and have seen it out the front a fair bit. just have a drive past and see if is still there, you never know he could still have it. midas , service rd near bob jane on the corner. take care , hope you find what you need. im spewing in 2000 , i had a 78 two door and it got stolen . the police found it at south gate drve in wood ridge. they only paid me$ 5000 in insurance and i had spent $20,0000 on it while i owned it. i travelled around australia in it for 3 years, and insurance said i could buy it back off them for$ 2000. i declined. i should have bought it back and stored it. it was red with a silver stripe down the centre , its rego was 382 blc. if and anybody has it , give us a message , id love too see it again. cheers all.Quote:

I'm lucky I picked up my 81 2 Door (8 years ago for $1,500.00c) .... original condition and rare 3 speed auto.
One of the local members of lrocwa sold a original 1979 2 door RRC (last year) from memory and struggled to get $5,500.00c for it.
Here's some photo's of my 2 door classic after I cleaned her up and fitted turbine mags and new tyres :D
Maybe we can start a thread for 2 Door Classics for sale.
I'm always looking to see whats around in Perth and would gladly put info for people looking for one ......just a thought.
