cleaning out a bit of rust in fuel tank

    Hay all,
As I go trough some initial motions of a gas conversion, my Aux tank has been sitting around for 6-9 months and hence there's surface rust inside. Any handy hints of how to clean? I have noticed on you tube to use Apple cider vinegar. But any other suggestions would be great!

    Cheers NAT

stick a couple of handfulls of clean blue metal in there add some water and put it on a seesaw and rock it back and forth, take it for a drive then turn it over.

inspect as required change the water as required and its done.

    Phosphoric acid.
Its perfect for removal of light rust.
Most decent paint ships will have it.
500mls mixed with 500mls of water. Put it in tank roll it onto each side of the tank for maybe 1-2 miniutes and flush it out, you will be all done in 10 minutes.
Give it a flush with a litre of diesel and away you go.

did that to my scorpion tank, but luckily its small enough that I just shook that c**p out of it for a few stints, worked really well

sharp edged stones usually used as agregate in concrete and under roads.

    use the 5mm stuff.

a length of chain works well to and can be easier to remove than stones depending on the filler neck
