    That little annoying breather thingy

    Hay all,
That breather on the right hand side of the rocker covers, has been driving me nuts. So my thought wast o replace it with a K & N mini breather. Now I have done some research and there's no definitive answer on this subject. I have noticed in the UK that they all replace them. I am concerned about the amount of air I would let in with a hole ALOT larger than original fitment.

    So thoughts boys an girls??

It's a breather, really don't stress over it. Unless it's blocked thats the only time it's an issue.

THe ponly reason I'm thinking about it cos Ivereplaced it twice now and this will be my third time. Yep, I'm a special case.

Hence the question. BUT still concerned about drilling a way better whole compared to original fitment. So Rover gods, is there/will there be an issue.

    OR

Just say shut up nat and buy another original unit you cheap bastard?

    Cheers nat

Later engines just have a small diameter hose from this fitting to the clean side of the air filter element (lid of air box). When I replace late model plastic air boxes with early model metal ones I just drill and tap a fitting into the can before the MAF. All the fumes go out through the big breather hose anyway.
