It says c80 on the coil. I have original coil which was working but swapped it out to eliminate if it was a problem. Will be putting old one back in.
On the dizzy the blue and red are original and as I changed the dizzy that's when it when pear shaped as I used an 35dlm instead on a 35dm. I swapped out the centre of the dizzy from old to new housing and it fired. If I switch these wires around there is no real difference with it starting.
As for it being a 3.9 serp this is where I confuse people as I only bought the car last year and don't know it's real history. When I get parts I have to run through a full story to explain. Haha.
Nice pictures!Any of these relays connected to the yellow wires in the EFI wiring loom? You know, that finger thick bundle of wires that contains the injector wires, goes from the back of the engine, through a monster grommet in the firewall, inside down the side of the tunnel, under the carpet to the ECU??? Keep looking, it's the non-OEM connections to this loom you're looking for. Unless you're upside down under the dash with a crick in your neck you haven't looked at all of the loom.
Should I get a test light and go through a full test area or will that just tell me if I have power or not
If I have read the bit in bold right ..........
This comment may have nothing to do with the ECU holding the injectors open ... However, my understanding is that the ignition AMP module is + / - non-reversible ... When you had cut the RED and BLUE wires and reconnected it, you had 2 ways to connect >>> +/- or -/+
Either way, my understanding is that you have achieved a healthy BLUE spark. And that it has fired up on gas.
