Thanks guys I'm going to get it to the gas station tomorrow I hope. As for the wiring I'm not so savvy on electrics so would need some help figuring it. I can however post pics of everything I see. Would really like to sort this myself then find a mechanic after all I have done haha

    Just a thought .....

    Bee utey advised .....

There is only one input to the ECU to cause it to inject fuel and that is the white/black stripe wire normally connected from the vehicle loom to the coil negative.

I'm just wondering if you hooked it up wrong ... happened to have sent a full and permanent 12v down that wire and fried the ECU ... Locking it into a permanent cycle of holding the 1 bank of injectors OPEN. >>> hence the flooding on 1 side.

Disconnect that ECU trigger wire and see what happens ...

.... Might be time for you tell us the actual year of this rangie and add in some photos for easier assistance.

    ... everyone loves photos

    So at a guess ....
You will have to look for a white wire with a black stripe that was within the area of where ever you had the coil .... It may be just a single strand line with a rectangular shielded female spade clip .... that was connected to the coil and was heading towards the back of the motor / Firewall location (passenger side)

Depending on your year ... the coil was originally located at passenger side of the engine bay .. on top of the inner wheel guard.

You will have to use a multi meter and actually identify (test) the 12v power feed to the coil .... ensuring that the White/black stripe is connected to the negative side of the coil.

If your not sure if you have the right wires ... then it can be traced via unplugging the harness at the ECU side ... and tracking it with a multi meter on the pin locations of the ECU harness.>>> Haynes manuals has a section on this subject and has "easy as" to follow steps.

It's an 1987 range rover which has a 3.9 in it. Coil is as you said over wheel arch.

    Right-eo

My reference of material is for 1990 to 1994 Hotwire injection

1987 runs the same kind of single wire from the negative coil terminal but I seriously doubt it will have anything to do with 1 bank flooding.

    mmmm 3.9 in a 87 model .... It's been modified?

Can you confirm if you have a Lucas Hot wire injection setup ... Same as Disco 1 .... or the older Flapper injection version.

    Picture would be handy
