    Strange coolant leak

Z5D2B78A5-A411-4659-9429-590633E2E2BE.jpgHi for the last 3 weeks I have had my manifold off as I had a leak into the valley of the V that I could not see where it was coming from and all my injector hoses were hard and brittle...so all has been replaced and today I have finished refitting everything and guess what I still have the same leak, but as everything was clean I could see where it was coming from..and I think my manifold has a crack or small hole where the hose connects at the bottom front..I have never seen anything like this before and while the manifold was off I did check the pipe but could see nothing.. I even filled it with liquid but nothing leaked...The funny thing today was it leaked when cold but as it warmed up the leak stopped...So so may have to get the manifold welded, which means I have to pull it off again...I hate doing things twice!!
I will try and upload some pictures and maybe a video later
    Brad.

    That's hard to see, but...

before you decide to remove the manifold again, take the hose off, and check the push in fitting for corrosion.
might needs a scriber etc around the edge, and some vinegar/citric acid to ermove any scale or buildup around the area.
I have seen these leak before, and you may be able to fix it by removing the pressed in fitting and replacing it with a tapped thread and a threaded barb fitting, but it could just as likely be a pinhole leak from underneath, or even the thermostat housing/cover. I noticed when pulling my thermostat off a few months ago that the face needed milling, due to corrosion worms from decades of previous owner cooling system neglect.

Since I have descaled the block and cooling system I don't have issues, but there are always plenty of 'discoveries' when overhauling a cooling system and making it sound.

Worst case scenario, you will need to weld it or source a new manifold and replace the gaskets.... Not a huge drama if you are at home and have time, but no gurantees that what you need is available or able to be sent before xmas.
