The only issue I had was rear springs dislocating. I will put in some clamps to keep them in as I prefer this over cones.
Had same problem, this one kept tearing the clamps out so had to use cones...

But aside from that, it changes smoothly so im very happy
The LT95 have a reputation for being "clunky". Combination of center diff and driveline backash and gears in Transfer. Mine is the same. Your driving style will adjust to suit! A worn A frame ball joint can add to it.

I agree, my 76 was pertty bad clunkwise when I bought it but when I replaced the a-frame ball joint, the clunk was nearly gone apart from the usual backlash that the 95's have.

I hadn't driven a LT95 for a few years til I bought this Rangie so I had to adjust my driving style like you mentioned (especialy have an auto for so long you forget).

A Frame ball joint already replaced, so theres no clunk, just the backlash. I must say that I need to learn heaps... kept putting it into 1st gear in low range rather than 2nd!!

Rangier Rover - thats one flex you got there. Mine only needs to hold it in place as its just sitting on the lip of the spring retainer, so a clip will do the trick in holding it in place.

Yep, 1st gear low is a waste of time in a LT95, 2nd is the go normally

Isn't there something you can do in the diff's too, adjust/replace some washers or shims or something like that?
I know, very vague I just remember someone mention it a couple of years ago.

Depends how much time and money you want to spend. Reseting up all the diffs will help. If pins worn etc will need replaceing. End float im boxes also. Most like me just wait till it gets real bad or goes bang! They will go a long time like it.

still going strong at 30 yo - very original '78 RR

still going strong at 30 yo - very original '78 RR, well apart from the holley, nola bushes, defence dept spec LT95 (only realised when I went to fit the O/D - no way known was this a standard main shaft), wiring replacement, dual battery, bilstein shocks and electronic dizzy.
