    Help!!

    Hi Everyone,

I have started removing the rust on Mudhog, the front mounts are totally stuffed.

Could someone help me with the placement of the hole for the front mounting brackets and size of this hole as there was very little steel left!!

As you can see, not much left. I can from the old ones get the OA sizes, but have very little to work with for the hole set up.

    Cheers

If no one replies I will take some pics, edit and post up.tomorrow. Someone may be able to cut some out of a wreck and post them to you. You are to far from here so I can't help you unless you cover postage

    Thanks Tony,

I'm going to make new ones, so just need as much info as possible about the hole set out for the rubber mounts.

A friend of mine owns a truck body building company and is going to make up the new ones.(He will show me what to do)

Any info would be much appreciated, heres a photo of the Hog so far!!

Front ready for the new mounts, I'm fitting the 2inch body lift at the same time as the repairs. I have new rubber flares to fit aswell.

Plenty of things to keep me going.

    Cheers

The Rangie workshop manual has the dimensions of the chassis and distance between mounting points set out.
IMHO you should do the measurements with the plates replaced on the body and that will tell you.
BTW I noted on mine that the holes are sometimes not symmetrical , so I think they trial fitted the body then drilled the holes. Maybe make up the plates, weld them on then drill the holes through the chassis hole.

    Thanks Philip,

I think I'll make a customwood(MDF) mock up as I'm a Cabinetmaker and use it as a pattern.

I've spoken to a local Landrover parts guy down here and he has an inner guard for a Classic Rangie. I'm going to see him today and get some photo's and measurements of the guard and mount plate set out.

    Thanks for all the help

    Cheers
