    4.2L & VRS kits

does anyone know if a 4.2L is just a stroker kit or fit it would be bored as well.

If it is bored, where do I get a VRS kit from.

whats the rough price of a VRS kit for a carby 3.5L anyway?

3.5s are generally stroked to 4.2-4.3
    3.9s stroked to 4.7-4.9

I beleive it will just be a stroker kit.
    I rule!!!

    2.4" of Pure FURY!!!

Gasket kit is same as 3.9.

The 4.2L came out here in the LWB Classics. The cranks were essentially left over from "PROJECT ALPINE" which was the near birth of the LR V8 Diesel based on the petrol V8. Damn shame they didnt hold together.......

Crank, cam, rods and pistons are different to the 3.9L and thats about it.

G`day if a stroker , it has the same bore size as a 3.5 but it will be bored either 2nd or 3rd oversize .

To get a VRS you need to know what head gaskets it wears , depending on the build it could have thin tin gaskets or thicker composite gaskets .

The thin tin are just Rover 3.5 and the composite are Felpro for a 3.5 .

3.9 head gaskets may work sort term but the size of the fire ring is too great for a stroker .

LWB classic , has a 3.9 and we know them as LSE in Australia .

Unless a private or special import no Factory 4.2s came to Australia , the UK and US got 4.2s but AU got 3.9 .

Ring around for VRS price as it will vary but you need to know which head gaskets

    Cheers
