Can you move the computer up behind the usless right vent in the dash? Should fit on the lower cowling nicely. Then the deep water wont bother you at all

    We think alike

He assured me though, that water would not get in, its completely sealed!
I'll let you know how it goes the first time i drive her half way up the windscreen in water

He's been building modded and race Rangie's for a long time so i didn't argue.

A few things worry me with that setup. looms along the hot floor, Nothing is ever 100% water tight unless epoxy is involved, heat to the ecu, a bastard to get at.
He obviously knows what he is doing though

Well bugger it I'm still sticking my ecu and control relays up in the dash with little waterproofing other than silicone spray. If I get that much water on board I'll have other problems

It can happen... We took a few inches of water in at Morton island just playing in a water hole I was damn lucky the ecu didn't chuck it in.

My ecu still sits on the floor undernearth driver seat , I have pretty much sealed the entire rangie floor , metal plates cut and rivotted with lots of sikaflex driven thru a few bog holes already and the carpet and trim has stayed dry .but as Tony has hinted you would probably want to tidy up the wiring loom laying on the floor around the transmission pan, does get quite hot there.
