After some research, Brad from KLR and I worked out how to mount a spare wheel carrier onto the Perentie chassis (thankfully he can weld):

You guys are falling behind!
I few presents arrived in the post today, a FM aerial plus mount, two mounts for spotlights, and some horns that actually get some attention haha.
The spotlight mounts are actually 38mm aerial mounts, but I couldn't find any purpose built mounts for spotlights to attach to the 35mm bar on the Perentie. These should do the trick though.
I haven't wired up the horns yet, hopefully they are loud. I can see part of the problem with the original horn is there is only one of them.

Maybe I should do my own build thread...

This is great, got my perentie going into
KLR next week for the turbo treatment and a conversion of the rear drums to discs. The fact that the rear wheel carrier can be done for the perentie is great, something I've been thinking about for a while to carry a second spare.
Looks good. I'm keeping the FFR rear so was thinking of a mount instead of one of the jerry holders maybe. Provided I can convince myself it's not too jeepish

Today:
1/ The front tyres were scrubbing out on the inside on each side, so I checked the alignment. There was 32.5mm difference between the front and rear of the wheels that's massive when they should only be slightly toe out.
Apparently when they fitted the new front end last February they merely took the front assembly out of the box and fitted it, never got around to doing an alignment. Even the paint was intact.
2/ Removed the front outer guard with the crushed corner and then re-fitted the panel from 49-353, so now I have an ex 8-12 Medium Regiment RAA FFR with the Red-eye packing bilby and Christmas tree of 16 AD Regiment RAA. It seems a shame to paint over original markings, so I'll leave it for a while.
3/ Swapped over the FFR instrument panel for the one with the ammeter with the centre dot intact.
4/ Swapped out the front RHS headlamp and bucket for one from a civvy 110 and connected it with a new, dedicated earth. Ran out of time for the LHS headlamp.
5/ Fixed the wiring for the reduced lighting,
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
