UHF finished install and checked. 10km away loud and clear.

btw, I fit the UHF, the mic and the cig/usb outlet in a genuine LR velour padded $500 centre console. Schmick.
    No I didn't. $500 is a lot of diesel.
I used an upside down 10 litre plastic tub.

I also looked for a better place to put the 1.5litre fire extinguisher bracket.
Not easy. In the end I just fit the bottle alone into an old arty round packing tube.

49-353 is looking very bare this evening.
    • The seat box has gone,
    • the tub is off
    • the longitudinal steering shaft is removed,
    • windscreen removed,
    • firewall removed,
    • jerry can holders removed
    • pintle removed and fitted into an ADE pintle swivel base with locking tab bracket.
    • tow accessories removed,
    • rear lifting brackets removed,
    • fuel tank removed,
    • engine removed,
    • FFR battery frame removed
    • mud flaps removed

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Fiiiiinally managed to do some work on the truck, on the last day of the holidays.

All I did really was put the middle bench seat back in and started on the headlight upgrade.

When I mounted the relays I thought it was a clever place (after a few minutes of head scratching) but once I started trying to mount them I realised it was a pain in the ass. Ended up losing a litre or two of coolant. I guess a coolant flush is on the cards now haha.

Haha, I knew someone would comment on that. It was so hot today the chequer plate was melting me.

    No more window rattles !!

Fitted the Garrisons Outfitters rubber window channels - bliss.

Once I'd read Solidrocks post on another thread I figured out how to pull the blasted windows apart, after that it was plain sailing. Took about 20 mins per window.
