Yes , but one would have to swap the sprocket input gear for the standard one with the PTO dogs.

The first thing you should do is change your diff ratio. Have a search on here, others have done this.
After that, fit an intercooler with a bigger turbo. Again, there is much discussion on this forum about this.
Me? I'm happy driving an unstressed 6x6 around at 80km/h. All I need to do is get it towing a tandem with the 101 loaded, legally.
Maybe my engine is down on power but i dont think it would move off the line if i changed the diffs with out going to low range first ill have to get it checked out i think. ill look more into the the larger turbo intercooler side of things too.
i know in town here near my place i have to climb a fairly long hill and it will not hold 60kph even attacking this with the 4.7 diffs so i cant see it having any hope with something other.

Sounds to me a bit as if you have a problem. This could be either engine down on power, either fuel supply restriction or something such as pump timing, or excessive drag, most likely from dragging brakes or wheel bearings, but possibly a diff or gearbox problem. The handbrake in particular may drag if there is oil leaking onto it. This assumes you have correct tyre pressures, and there is not serious misalignment of any axle, which will also look like power loss - with the power going into wearing your tyres!

    Paid for it!

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

One of the US top truck challenge competitors one year had a powered trailer which seemed to work well.

A trailer with hydraulic drive which is only turned on to provide assistance when needed would work well.
