Put a dual battery system in. ***** of a job & I've done heaps of them. Needed a bit if adjustment to the seat base to sit them in properly. Used a Piranha battery tray (BTDEF), Piranha DBE 180 system & Baintech panel for the outputs.
The tray allowed me to fit and secure the two batteries well. I fitted the controller in the seat box as well. It's a good area, I don't need to see it, or the lights on it, and it helps keep a bit of originality to the vehicle. Likewise, I fitted the distribution panel behind the passenger seat. It's out of the road, slightly protected & easy access, whether I run the big fridge in the back, or small one in the front. I put a section of 1.5mm rubber over the top of the lot, under the floor cover, just to save any chance of shorting out. Seat belts tomorrow, then a maiden trip with all my troops!

-Started striping the back of the 6x6 ambo to make way for a kitchen, bed and heaps of storage.
-fit new pto driveshaft that I machined up a couple of months ago as it was missing. (thanks Bearman for the spare uni joints)
-and she now has three new air lockers and a diff ratio change to 3.54.

needs a little more power to make up for the ratio change. great around town, just needs a bit more grunt. got a new td04-19t turbo and front mount intercooler that will hopefully make up for that.

ARB Diff cover on a Perentie.

On the subject of diffs, maybe I'm missing something here, but today I went to fit my new ARB diff cover to the rear diff on my Perentie 110.
It is a standard Salisbury rear end, however there is a brake line support bracket which is normally bolted to the axle housing through the diff cover.
With the new ARB cover, I see no way of doing this - is there a fix?
The other discovery was that the threads on the axle housing are different to the bolts supplied.
The bolts are easily sorted, but I'm not sure about the brake line bracket - any suggestions from anyone?
I'm also following this up with ARB.

The ARB diff cover is made for the Dana 60, which is imperial, hence the bolts not working (obviously the Salisbury 8HA is a metric Dana 60).

As for the bracket, I see the left hole goes all the way though. Can you get a longer bolt and a nut and put the bracket on the back?

By the way, I like that you painted it white!

Also, are you going to grind the bottom of the diff down now that you have the ARB cover?

hey Dave, what would you like to know? landrover spares in mackay did the swap, I picked up the arb lockers for $900 each in December. landrover spares supplied the new crown wheel and pinion sets. same as the defender sets. needed either the lockers or defender centres as the 6x6 centres would not fit the new gears. I wanted 3.9 ratio and contacted a few overseas suppliers, no luck. at least if I ever need another set the 3.54's are easier to come by. I have the compressor behind the drivers seat and switches up high on the dash.
everyone said the gearing would be no good around town and off road but its similar to my 300tdi 130 so im happy with it. a little more grunt it will be great and hopefully quite good on fuel.
    has cost to much money...
im not very tech savy, can someone tell me how to post pics so I can through a few up.
