Rx super/castrol fmx/omd115 (or pretty much any other 15/40wt engine oil for everything thats upstream of the propshafts. 80/90 for everything downstream

castrol LX or similar grease for all grease nipples and dor 3/4 mineral brake fluid for the clutch and brakes.

anything close enough to diesel for the fuel tanks.

I've been there as have many others. You can learn from our experience or confirm our findings.
The LT95 transfer case gears are shimmed on the shaft. The thicker oils don't get into the oil grooves of the shims, the shims get hot and burn, melt.
The common fix up is to run a tapered bearing kit through the transfer case. Your friends ex military would more than likely have the tapered bearing kit in it. It may be able to handle gear oil but, will you risk it? Would he risk it?
Let us know what you decide and how you go.
I just forwarded the advices from your guys to my friend. She hasn't got the oil change done yet but I think she's going to follow these advices.

a couple of liters of citronella oil will also help keep the mozzies at bay around the workshop.

And while the original spec for the swivel housings was for engine oil/OMD115, there is an Army EMEI changing the CVs to grease lube (which tend not to leak/seep). Check the vehicle record to see if it has been changed to grease.

we're now getting penrite diesel FX 15/40wt as the engine oil. and the 80/90 is either castrol, valvoline or pentrite depending on what the system wants to provide.
