Well as I'm in the market for a single spare, the cost if 5 rims, plus cost of swapping tires etc, far outweighs the cost of my original idea of simply buying the correct rim and a new tire.

fair enough. One thing to check, if you buy a larger rim, is what offset it has. I can't imagine it would be very nice to drive at speed if one rim is out of position.

I'm sure you should be able to find genuine one second hand cheap. I'd give you one of mine, but I'm QLD.

Ok there may have been a miscommunication.

I'm asking - is a wolf rim identical to a perentie rim...

My perentie has 7.5 tires, and no indication of rim width.

Is it worth 330 for a genuine or is the $190 wolf rim a viable alternative?

The stock rim is 16*6.5. Quick google of wolf rims indicates they are the same.

Put an ad up in the 'wanted' section I'm sure you'll be able to get an genuine second hand for less than $100.

Hold on mate, stock Perentie rims are 16x6 +33 offset

Wolf Rims are 16x6.5 +20.6 offset

I have wolf rims and carry a disco steely as a spare (16x7 +33), as I figured a short trip to get you out of the **** with a slightly different offset won't matter bugger all.

Also to clarify, Wolfs (ANR4583) look nothing like a ROH Perentie rim (AYG8108), so don't get fooled by anyone selling you the wrong thing

argh! my bad, my brain for some reason remembered the stock rim as 16*6.5 not 16*6.
That's why I mentioned checking the offset. in a straight line it won't matter a d*mn. Cornering in the wet might be a little unsettling, especially over 60!

Still, i reckon he'll find someone willing to part with an old original for $100 or so.
worth checking remlr.com.au as well. occasionally some for sale there.

Should be able to get Wolf's cheaper than $190 each. I run them on my Perentie and my No5 trailer and am very happy with them. I also run them on a Series III Stage One. I picked them up for around $160 each from RoverCraft in WA. I know that they had to come from Sydney so I imagine you shouldn't be paying anything above $160 if you live on the East Coast.
    Good luck!
    Regards Warrick.
