in case anyone else is searching the answer is simple on the RHD D3 petrol I ran antenna coax to and through the spare 2nd battery box area through the foam grommet - then with the cover removed you can see the fire wall in front of the drivers foot well- 8 to 10cm right "South East" of where the steering goes through is a small grommet (not the steering grommet / rubber flange - keep clear of that) , pierce through the grommet and with confidence push a screw driver through this which will break through the foam layer on the inside. Feed the cable through.
from the inside either remove the foot well pedal fascia or look up through the gaps if you are a contortionist to see the cable sticking through, carefully pull it through to your desired location.
Consider checking from the inside first that no existing cables or pipes are in the area you think the screw driver will come out.
