Everyone i know who has one has said the same thing about battery life.
Are you on Optus or Voda? Or are you in an area with poor reception?

Mine usually last 2 days, some iView and call, browsing etc, but have good signal.

I like the phone for all of the stuff that it does, but it's reception is not even close to my old Nokia NextG's.

PC, but there are probs with the user file!

The more I use the iPhone5 the more I absolutely love it. It is a brilliant piece of work. Totally usable, totally trackable, and Siri is an absolute legend. I don't have to type anything any more, I just talk to Siri and she types it for me. Siri has typed all of this post. There are also so many excellent apps for the iPhone it can do just about everything.

I was considering a new 5, that was until I found out that all the accessories I have for the 4, 4s and iPods are not compatible. That was why I went with the iPhone initially as it is an easy charging/playing solution for the whole family.
I have never been thrilled with the battery life or reception, so hopefully they have improved that?
When I upgrade I will be looking at the other brands as my main retaining factor has gone.

Battery usage great on mine.....see pic (by clicking on it). Last charge was 26 hours ago....used for calls, vids, internet, messaging (and taking a screen capture of my iPhone 5 settings usage page and posting it here!) for a total time of 2 hours 13 minutes and I still have 60% charge. Nothing wrong with that. I have LTE on, WIFI on, Location services on...everything is on. Reception great too - I moved to Telstra. I don't think Apple should be obliged to keep a design ad Infinitum. If they are to design thinner, bigger, less weighty gadgets with better battery life ( and mine is definitely better than my old 4), then something had to give. I personally don't own any accessories that require the new adaptor, and the USB connector on iPhone 5 remains as before, so plugging into PC/Mac for charging, or using my 12 V car charger, all still do actually work as before.

I realize the logic behind the changes, it would be a hard market to keep up with, given the screen sizes and specs available on the competitors now.
But in my opinion the IPhone was appealing because of it's simple and interchangeable add ons, this appeal has now been removed, meaning I would have to buy extras to use my old gear.
I am sure that many people are mire than happy with the new design and features, but as I have never been truly happy with my iPhone I won't be getting the 5.

This is my take on this, I am sure that it will not be everbodys

You can really only use one of your "old" iPhone accessories at any one time, right? So why does not the purchase of but one adaptor (Apple at $35.00, others @ $20.00) not fix your issue? But if you don't really like the phone, or any particular aspect of the Apple environment, moving platforms is a good idea!

Try plugging your iPhone 5 into your hifi stereo dock, car dock, etc. Now go out and spend another thousand duplicating them all.

I don't have one! I don't have any of these extra gadgets....as I've already pointed out. Which is why I asked the question! So maybe you can explain to me why something like this....

Save $20 on iPhone 5 Lightning Adaptor - The Tech Loft

won't do what you want. I don't have a "hifi stereo dock" to check out....But what is it about this adaptor that won't allow you to use it? And again - why the need to "spend another thousand duplicating them all??? You don't use your hifi dock, car charger and alarm clock all at once, do you?

At least we've put the bogus battery life argument to bed!
