SubscriberHey solved the problem although the original problem still exists. Talking with a friend this morning and he suggested I download the newest version of Adobe reader. It was then that the penny dropped. I had not downloaded any reader and the problem was within something in windows 8. I downloaded Adobe and all is fine. Thanks for suggestions. Jim

AT RESTIs it just me? every day I turn the laptop on there is a message to install important update for Flash, I download it installs and then the next day the process starts all over again, it's ground hog day every day!Originally Posted by jonesy63

No just you!At least it is actively updating itself (*after* new vulnerabilities/exploits are addressed). The issue imho, are the applications which rely on the user to manually update.
