    Search engines and the internet.

About 6 yrs ago on another computer I was trying to find info via Google.
No go . Someone suggested I download Copernic Basic, which I did and then found the story I was after.
Now down the track on another computer I was trying to find that same story using the same search words and cant find it.
It could be because Copernic basic is no longer available, or the info has gone.
Is that possible, or is it that there are better search engines around that are not free.
I tried that Duck Duck Go one and that could not find it either.

Copernic is what is known as a meta search engine, one that uses another search engine's results. I loved Copernic, it would compare results from multiple search engines to identify the sites that were matched by the most search engines.

Evolution of Google, and other mainstream search engines, has seen the demise of meta search engines...

Try googling 'meta search engines'. I see dogpile is still around, which had a following in its day.
