    The whole obsolete copper network was supposed to be bypassed with fibre from exchanges to premises, but then Abbott and Turnbull decided to use copper from street nodes to premises, so we didn't get fibre, which is the method for the future. It's a classic case of cost-cutting causing a stuff up.

    We get our service on the farm via Skymuster - limited to 60GB a month!

    My family suffered internet withdrawal when we moved from the city and our 1000GB a month (which we never got near using even with constant Netflix and Xbox).

    Have to say lowering the definition quality of Netflix made a huge difference to managing data usage and we didn’t feel it was much worse.

    You have 18 months after the NBN arrives to switch to it. Written into the legislation. So VDSL won't be available as an option and you'll need to switch to NBN.
