What I was trying to say was that at one time nearly all ISP's counted upload towards your data limit. ISP's are moving away from that and I wouldn't even consider an ISP that counts upload. Unless of course they offered nearly twice the total limit. If that makes sense?
Either way ISP's counting upload towards your data limit is a bad thing and Telstra should get their act together, (as should other ISP's that count upload).
sorry , I misunderstood what you "said" as apposed to what you "meant" , yes I totally agree with you , often families and friends come up and ask me if Telstra Internet plans are any good and how they compare with other service providers , because I work for Telstra.

My response is "Telstra is relatively expensive and they do count uploads ,whe shaped you're speed is reduced down to 64K etc.

Internode. Reliable, good speed and friendly, helpful, KNOWLEDGEABLE people to talk to if ever you have to ring them (I've had to ring twice in 18 months because I stuffed something up)

Optus Cable here...... been there for years and years.. ( was Optushome)

That said ... most of their new plans smell...... I'm still on my old original deal while new ones pay more than I do.. and get their uploads counted..

They do however now get faster speeds than the original plans...

But an average connection of 6-7 Mbps will do me ...

Internode plus run NodePhone with them. Over here in Karratha in the middle of nowhere. Been with them for 6 years, no problems with them at all.

I've heard that Exetel are really good, however I use Westnet. Westnet's prices are about the same as the major ISP's. I have found the service to be extremely reliable, and the customer service and tech support are excellent.
