RON, YOU'RE ON HOLIDAY. YOU'RE ON HERE MORE THAN IF YOU WERE AT HOME.
PUT THE COMPUTER AWAY & SEE A BIT OF NEW ZEALAND.
And yes, I'm shouting at you.
Before I throw this blasted Mac across the room, how can I click on a link to open FF in a new tab without closing the existing tab?
For example, I open AULRO, click New Posts and get a list of the new post threads. I don't want to lose that window, so in Win XP, I right click on one of the entries in the New Posts page, and it will open a new tab with that thread whilst leaving the original list of threads untouched.
I can't see how to do that with this blasted Mac - it doesn't have two mouse keys for a start! My wife has no idea - it's her computer.
The main reason for doing this is that if one answers a thread without opening the thread in a new tab, one has to step back multiple times to get back to the list of new threads.

Do Macs have a key like the Ctrl key on a proper computer keyboard?n Edit: I gather from Outlaw's post that they do.
Hold down the Ctrl key while you click on something and it opens in a new tab in FF (on my non-Mac machine).

Thanks gents. That's saved the wife's new MacBook!
The trouble is that she's expecting me to help with it. I'm useless with the Mac.

Open the preferences and you can alter the mouse settings for a right click option. You can also right click by tapping two fingers on the touchpad.
not on a mac you can't (fairly sure though always a possibility of being wrong)... though you can set it to have 2 fingers on the trackpad and clicking the button to bring up the options
