Ok guys, I've been doing a few measurements of Disco 1's that claim to have 2" lifts. As stated earlier in the post 470mm from the center hub to the bottom of the guard is probably standard height. That being the case a 2" lift should be around 520mm. Most 2" lifts really only claim to give around 40mm lift so in the ball park.
Note where the Disco had guards cut or flares fitted I measured to the bottom of the crease and then subtracted 100mm from the front and 125mm from the rear total measurement.

    Results as followed:
    Disco 1: F 485mm R 485mm
    Disco 2: F 515mm R 555mm
    Disco 3: F 515mm R 555mm (R 2" springs + 2" spacers)
    Disco 4: F 500mm R 535mm
    Disco 5: F 518mm R 530mm
    Disco 6: F 560mm R 590mm (F+R 2" springs + 2" body lift)

So hope that help any one trying to work out if there Disco is lifted or not. Feel free to add your measurement and what type of lift you have so people may have some reference in the future.
    Cheers, David.

Im still scratchin my head on this one
    As previously mentioned, mine r 470/500 front/rear with a 2" lift.
They are OMEsprings which Im told are Kings???
Talking to the guy a Moorabbin spring works, he says after fitting new Kings , I will achieve500/530 f&r.
My question is presuming the OME are Kings, will I be back to square 1 in a few months time???
The springs Im talking about are the most heavy duty ones from Kings.
Also, does anyone who,s had both, have a preferance 4 Dobinsons or Kings?
    Cheers Dean.

I only put one front and rear measurement but on mine and a lot of the others they sat lower on the drivers side. I think this is a Disco trait and always returns.
    Cheers, David.

I'm happy with my rear hieght at 515mm so I just picked up some 30mm front coil spacers to try it out and bring it back to the same as the rear. I'll see how they go. They are pretty cheap so I'll try them before I get new springs.
    Cheers, David.

Just put them in tonight. Now sitting around 525mm in the front. That's straight off the jack though so may settle after a run. I'll let you know how they go.

I got them from the 4wd workshop in Frankston. $39.00 a pair and are Ironman ones. They advertise on ebay under Discovery seach.
    Cheers, David.

    2" lift measurements

    Hi,

I recently had a 2" lift completed - I know I should have done it myself but I ahve been busy and have to have the rig ready for Cape York at the end of next month.

    Measurements are:

    FL - 480mm
    FR - 475mm
    RL - 550mm
    RR - 545mm

I hope the slope to the right is not related to the time I spend on that side.

At the same time I had a TJM winch bar and Safari snorkel fitted to the front and Poly Air Springs in the rear coils - these are set at 8psi in the above measurements.

This is the before shot in my back yard a few months ago.

Then the after shot in the front yard yesterday. (Sorry about the shadow).

    Bill
