    Unhappy Fuel Leak--- HELP!

Okies.. So it would appear that I have a fuel leak somewhere in the fuel system of my 97Tdi Disco. I did a search and it would appear that the most common fault is the lift pump.. Which I will get around to replacing later. Anyways, my main question is there any problem with replacing the fuel line with normal fuel line (the soft rubber type as opposed to the hard rubber type)

This is what I want to replace the fuel line with...

Obviously I would have to also add hose clamps to this...

    Any problems with this idea

Also, it would appear to be a small leak out of the fuel filter where it runs into the main pump... This will be my first port of call... So hard to find the leak I tells ya!

In my expert-less opinion, I can't see why there would be a problem replacing the hard plastic ones with normal rubber fuel line.
As long as they are not the pressurised metal ones (that would be stupid).

I replaced the leak off lines from the injectors with rubber fuel line and was going to replace the hard plastic one back to the pump, but it looked ok.

Hey!! There must be something about the Discovery, 300Tdi, 1997 model, and living in Perth, as mine is doing the exact same!

Lift pump is GBP17.95 from Paddocks UK, which as far as I've seen is pretty cheap - about A$30 + a few dollars for required nuts and olives. I will probably ordering one early next week, if you want I'll get one for you too and hence save on postage costs?

    Cheers,

    Seano

    Hi Klappers
Using rubber hose on the non pressure side is fine.
Just make sure the hose is rated for fuel.Coolant hose isnt suitable.
