I dropped a few caps and decided the mains were OK so they went back together, not that I was intending to replace them anyway, I only had big ends and thrust bearings in stock, and I didn't bother swapping the thrusts out either.

This was more of an inspect and see with regards to the mains (same as you have done). Will be checking the price of locally sourced big ends here. Everything else in that list is cheaper from UK.

Just checked with UPS. Two packages at 27kg shipped to my door for 146 pound. Thats pretty bloody good I think, coming out of the UK at least anyway. Parts are now in Denmark... I am going to be like a kid in a candy store come Wednesday. Jackpot! Will source wheel bearings locally, as well as rear axle seals. Will be converting to oil feed bearings in the back. Anyone know a good one in Perth?

Parts are here, going to be a busy weekend. Try and get it all out of the way first up. Do I have to use a deflecting beam torque wrench for any special reason with the timing belt?

can't use the clicky type, coz you use it to hold the tensioner at the specified torque, but theres a few tips on using a fish scale instead of a beam torque wrench

I have all of the pieces together finally and can now start ripping the beast apart. Radiator and front timing cover off this arvo to inspect and replace timing belt with new everything sweet deal.

Kudos to you mate! Its certainly not a job for the feint hearted! LOL
I'd imagine its was a MASSIVE effort just to source the parts!

It'd be a beer well earned at the end mate, hell, the money you save on labour costs, you could buy a pallet of Crownies, and still have change!
