I've got a leaky "thing"
Hey all,
Can someone please tell me what it is.
In the coolant system on my 300 tdi. Has 3 6mm hoses connecting to it. Its black with a diameter about a 50c piece. In between the coolant tank, radiator and head. About 200mm from the coolant tank.
Well, its leaking. And I dont know what it is, what its called, or what it does.
Any clues?

It's called an ejector pump. I believe there's a valve of some sort inside that controls the flow of coolant to the expansion tank. I could be wrong though.
Part # PCH117840

You're the third person in the last few weeks with this problem:

I haven't opened one myself, but from these threads the ejector pump is nothing more than a y-joiner.

I have just replaced mine with a genuine from the UK cost 19 pound.Looking at it,there is no valve in the plastic housing so should be ok to replace it with a tee piece.Goss fuel parts do them for about $4.00.

Dont wait replace it ASAP, if it fails completely you will cook your motor. A brass 3 way T piece is the way to go, i believe it helps bleed air from the system.
