Anyone elses door locks fall down and keep locking themselves?

My lovely Disco has presented me with what is sure to be another common silly problem...the central locking locks and unlocks fine and no electrical problems seem to be happening, but a couple of the locks themselves (tailgate included) seem to have lost whatever spring or friction mechanism was underneath them to keep them up when unlocked and they fall down freely back into the door, locking themselves again. This means that if I want to open the tailgate I need to have the key in there turned to the unlock position and held there while I pull the door handle or the door stays locked.

This has also happened to the passenger side rear door.

Surely this has happened to others and I did a quick search but probably didn't use the right words or something so I didn't find much.

Any suggestions? Easy or painful fix?

A bit more quick research looks like there might be a mongrel spring which just fails in the locks...I hope whatever it is is easy enough to fix...?

times 2, plus all the remaining doors will randomly lock at the same time. this often occurs as the car passes 80km/h.

Here I thought it was a safety feature as locked doors ensure the structural integrity of the car in case of an accident haha

It is apparently an easy fix,, just remove the door liner and replace the spring. There is a thread in here somewhere that sort of describes it.
Also, I found when mine did this and I went to us the key, it was very difficult to turn it. Fixed this by spraying some Innox into the barrels, including the ignition,, now their all turning sweet as

If it is a D1 you can get the springs from ebay (delivered from UK). Have replaced 3 springs on mine so far.
