Exclamation d1 recovery points with air bags

I have a question for you smart gentlemen when i fitted my arb bullbar to my d1 the factory recovery point would no longer fit [ I think its a factory recovery point two bits of 8mm steel two bolt holes and abit of round bar doubled up into a eye at 45 degrees ] my question is can i use some type off rated eye that bolts to the bullbar as it has a driver side air bag or do i have to bolt the recovery point to the original holes on my chasey i have seen some on offer that are only bolted to one side not both like the factory one . I dont think single ones may be strong enough as there is a lot off weight and force needed when bogged up to the sills . If you can steer me in the right direction or tell me were i can get recovery points that bolt to both sides it would be good i just might have a go at making some

Discos don't come factory with any recovery points.

If you are talking about the factory points that are on the chassis (which sounds like you might be) they are NOT recovery points.
They are only tie down points for travelling on a ship etc.

You need to get yourself a set of these: http://www.aulro.com/afvb/verandah/1...ery-1-2-a.html

i thought the factory point you are speaking of is the 'tow' point - most cars have them.
This tow point is designed to pull the car on a road - but NOT to take a full on 4wd recovery using a snatch strap...

if you use this tow point for its intended purpose then you should be fine.

Jim621 is right about the tow point.

It is the one that sticks straight out of the plastic spoiler of the original bumper.

As mentioned being towed by this on road is fine, but it won't stand up to an off road recovery.

Get yourself a set of quality recovery points that bolt to each of the chassis rails and use an equalising strap between them threaded through a snatch strap and all will be apples.
