Thread: d1 recovery points with air bags

Discos don't come factory with any recovery points.

If you are talking about the factory points that are on the chassis (which sounds like you might be) they are NOT recovery points.
They are only tie down points for travelling on a ship etc.

i thought the factory point you are speaking of is the 'tow' point - most cars have them.
This tow point is designed to pull the car on a road - but NOT to take a full on 4wd recovery using a snatch strap...

if you use this tow point for its intended purpose then you should be fine.

Jim621 is right about the tow point.

It is the one that sticks straight out of the plastic spoiler of the original bumper.

As mentioned being towed by this on road is fine, but it won't stand up to an off road recovery.

Get yourself a set of quality recovery points that bolt to each of the chassis rails and use an equalising strap between them threaded through a snatch strap and all will be apples.
