    Fuel Filter

    Hi again

I have to change the Fuel filter on my 300TDi and have never done it before.
I know that it is important not to get air in the fuel system so, what is the best method to change the diesel fuel filter on the TDi?????

    Thanks for any help

This is how i do it wether its correct or not. With the engine off, remove old filter, screw in nylon drain from old filter to the new one if not supplied. Fill new filter with diesel and screw back on making sure its firm. Once this is done start her up. if you have not run it dry it should bleed up fine and run straight away, may give a cough and fart but should be fine.

If you do run dry there is a primer lever on the lifter pump on the drivers side of the engine. In an awkward position but isn't everything. Just pump it quite a few times.

All I do when I change my filter is:

    Remove old filter
    Install new filter
Open bleed on top of the housing
    Start motor
Close bleed screw when all air has been removed

    Check for leaks

    Job done
