Thread: alternator exchange

I have a late 95 v8 and want to up the amps from the 65amp alt to the 100 amp alt. I know I can get the alternator with the serpentine pulley (100amp) model. Just wondering if anyone has done the exchange themselves and had any trouble. Do I need to upgrade any of the wiring. I would think only the charge wire to the battery as all the other wires are only trigger wires from the ignition and they should be alright. Im only guessing can any one shed some light.

thanks cockie55. I checked on the same alternator listed for the disco and it is about $420- $490 depending on the supplier but I will check the listing for the drover
