I had a 97 td pajero recently a year or two ago and was using 2 stroke every tank at a ratio of I think it was 200-1. There is heaps of info on it on different forums. I found it run heaps quieter, had slightly more power but was giving me 50-80km more per tank. Not to use full synthetic was the key factor, Only mineral or semi sinthetic and most reckoned the cheap stuff was better. Some did a test with it in a jar mixed with diesel and some brands I think full synthetic it was did'nt mix very well some type you use needs to be approched with caution. I'm not sure on LR's running on it so you would probably be best to do you own research as I dont want to be liable if something goes wrong but in my Paj it was great, worked a treat. I would'nt mind give it a go in my D2 but I dont know if it would be ok or even work the same. I know with commonrails you have to be carefull, and there was something about if you diesel had a cat convertor it was a no no as it apparantly clogs it up or something like that. My experience with it!
Hey Peppercorn,
Read your posts. Just want you to think about something. A rattly diesel isnt necessarily a bad thing. Quiet doesn't equate to being better, even though it sounds better. Direct injected engines (ie the 300tdi) are always going to be noisier than the equivalent quieter indirect injected engines.(as in many Jap diesels) Yet the DI engines are more economical and powerful than their equivalent.
So rattle is good![]()
