did you buy yours to go with a trutrac

    I've sent you a PM.
I just search the net for part numbers to suit LR Disco with 24spline diff. They're no different for the Truetrac.

Correct, one on the pinion nose, just a roller, not tapered

well this is what we got

    timken# 11300race $62 and 11162bearing $55

I needed 4 each of these for the 2 diffs

So 4 races came to $248.00
    and 4 bearings $220.00

So all up we have forked out $514.80 inc 46.80 GST which seems rediculous...I'm not fiting them yet until we find out exactly what we are supposed to have as I will be taking them back if I can find them cheaper else where.

You obviously bought them in Canberra - that is the sort of money I had to pay for mine here.

Yes 4sets all up to cover both your diffs. I only changed these (carrier bearings) when I did mine. I didn't worry about pinion.
Part number will be the same for any bolt in centre.

Sorry, I have been away for a few days.
You need 2 Carrier Bearings for each diff. It doesn't matter if it is a Truetrak or a normal diff, 2 carrier Bearings and 2 Pinion Bearings.
I paid about $34 for the 2 Carrier Bearings and $90 for the big Pinion Bearing and about $30 for the smaller Pinion Bearing.

If you paid $248 for 2 Bearings you have been ripped off majorly!!!!

Of course if your current bearings are Ok and prepared to take the risk you can use your old bearings.

Is this false economy? maybe but if there is no pitting and they run OK why not risk it - afterall they are oil bathed and not such a big deal to replace if they start to go and normally you get warning.

Before I put my detroit in everything was great - no noise, no vibration but when I pulled the diff out the races were badly pitted so I replaced the lot - no symptoms so they can clearly take a lot.
